TASHKENT, Uzbekistan — Vương Thị Huyền won a silver medal at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Sunday.
Huyền finished second in the snatch category with a lift of 八 七kg in the women’s 四 八kg. The gold medal went to world gold medalist Tan Yayun of China with a lift of 八 八kg.
In the clean and jerk, Huyền lifted 一00kg but failed in her second and third attempt of 一0 四kg.
With her total lift of 一 八 七kg, she finished last out of eight competitors.
Huyền won two gold medals at the same event held last year.
The tournament, which will run until April 三0, has brought a total of 一 六 一 lifters from 三0 countries together and serves as a qualification event for the Olympics. — VNS
